Date: 16 Mar 88 00:31 PST From: Burwell.pa Subject: COMPAREDIRECTORIES To: Masinter cc: Burwell.pa, James Larry - are you interested in maintaining this? The documentation hasn't been updated to reflect the new arguments. It also has no examples and doesn't indicate whether one should put a wildcard for the directories or not (i.e. do I say "{nb:parc:xerox}1.3k>" or "{nb:parc:xerox}1.3k>*"). More seriously, I cannot get it to work for files that are in subdirectories below the directory. For example if I do (COMPAREDIRECTORIES "{nb:parc:xerox}1.3k>" "{darwin:europarc:rx}1.3k>") And there is a file: {NB:PARC:Xerox}1.3K>DEMO>ANIM.NOTEFILE;2 then it will look for the file {Darwin:europarc:rx}1.3k>ANIM.notefile rather than {NB:PARC:Xerox}1.3K>DEMO>ANIM.NOTEFILE (it misses the demo subdirectory). I think it maybe should be using MAPFILES. I know that Nick has a fix to MAPFILES in Trickle (see the Trickle code). Thanks, Larry! *becky* End of message TIMESROMAN TIMESROMAN zē
