If you have a tall typescript window with the caret flashing near the top (after a clear, say), and you reshape it to be much less tall, the caret is way off the top of the window.  The problem is that the typescript window has no EXTENT, and the window system has no way of knowing where the important region is -- it just copies the lower left-hand corner.'
