When you select in the mark column, you enter an i/o wait for a mark character, or ESC to abort.  Since sometimes people accidentally select in that place, and some aren''t even aware of the state they landed in, it would be nice if trying to select in the browser would cancel this state.'

Hard because you would have to commandeer the mouse in order to do this, or make the browser buttoneventfn know how to abort the i/o wait of the process handling the mark.
