I edited the pname of an atom by selecting the "TTYIn Form" command. When I terminated the TTYIN by typing ^X, the edit buffer disappeared and attached itself to the bottom of my top level typescript window. When I typed something, it decided to come home again.'

Some more details': if the selection one is editing was in the edit buffer to start with, the disappearance is only temporary.'
