Reasoning': TEDIT.QUIT is a programmatic interface, and so it is no inconvenience to the caller to close the window if that is the desired behavior. On the other hand, if the desired behavior is NOT to close the window, there is no way for the caller to achieve it, except for the kludge of adding a DON''T to the window''s CLOSEFN prop. And the problem with that kludge is that the owner of the window can no longer conveniently distinguish calls to CLOSEW that came from TEDIT.QUIT and calls from the standard window menu.'
