It would be nice if TEDIT.FORMATTEDFILEP returned a different result depending on whether there were image objects, or merely different fonts.  In the latter case, the chance of information loss involved in flushing the formatting is much lower; and Lafite could, for example, ask the more direct question "retain font information?" instead of the vaguer "retain formatting?".'
