Description: if a window has an attached window below it, then whenever the window is reshaped, FIRST the main window extends down to cover the space the lower/attached window should occupy, THEN the lower/attached window is moved down even further, SO THAT (1) the whole is now too large vertically by twice the height of the lower/attached window, and (2) there is a vertical gap between the main &lower/attached windows, equal to the height of the lower/attached window.  

Workaround: 

Test Case: NEWFONT(mumble) repeatedly with a Lafite top-level window & a Filebrowser window on the screen.  Both should split & (repeatedly) get larger.
