?= seems to misgauge by one scan line the height of th line; it crops off the top scan line of the data it prints out, and repositions the cursor at the wrong line too.  Repeated ?=''s have the effect of scrolling the top lines of the window (all but the bottom character line) up by one scan line each time.'
