INTPATCH and INTPATCH.DCOM (required for ''safe'' running if SPY in Fugue.6 and earlier releases) are now on [eris]<Lisp>Fugue.6>Patches>.'
'
(To LispCore↑': I suggest we follow the convention that ''patches'' to a release be stored on [eris]<Lisp>releasename>PATCHES>. We''ve been pretty haphazard about where they are.)'

I added SAVEVMPATCH to the files on {Eris}<Lisp>Fugue.6>PATCHES>. It retro-fits a change to SAVEVM (fixed in the sources three months ago) that trips up RS232 stuff.'
'
Incidentally, when I gave out versions of the new RS232 stuff to run on Fugue.6/Carol sysouts, I had only one patch file -- called FUGUE6PATCH. Wouldn''t it make for smoother operation to combine INTPATCH and SAVEVMPATCH as I did with FUGUE6PATCH and basically just have one patch file called, say, {Eris}<Lisp>ReleaseName>PATCHES and .DCOM ?'

I think we get enough incremental orthogonal patches that separating them out makes sense, at least for Xerox internal users. '
'
There is a separate ''operations'' issue of how the operations staff wants to deliver patches to customers. It might make sense to send out a single file which they generate by merging all of the other files together, or maybe just a single ''patches'' floppy....'

'
Well, why not just periodically append all the incremental patch files into a composite file, so that even internal users need load only one file of patchs.'
