Description: A while back somebody sent a message about MAXC authentication getting screwed in the move from PHYLUM to ERIS. I didn''t pay much attention, but I do now notice this unfortunate change. For example, if I try to LOAD a file off of MAXC, I get "Incorrect password/{MAXC2} Login': roach (password)" even though LISP knows my password. The LOGIN prompting also used to print "roach" as upper case "ROACH" (which by the way, I prefer). When I CHAT to MAXC, it logs me in as "roach" instead of "ROACH" as it used to.'

Nobody coerces your username to lowercase, so you probably typed it that way, or it''s that way on your disk. There is a bug in the Maxc Leaf server such that it requires your password be typed in uppercase, which is probably your authentication glitch. Given Maxc''s imminent demise, fixing its Leaf server is not a very high priority.'
