If you are running lisp on partition n (n>7), you can access that partition as {DSK}, so you can potentially access up to eight partitions from within lisp.' ' Although quadrupling the number of partitions hasn''t quadrupled the DSK space available to a single sysoute, it certainly has quadrupled the number of users/applications that can have a private partition. Many of the new Pool machines show that here.' ' ' I suggest informing marketing of the assymetry of the "reach" -- namely that partitions which one may want to access from other partitions should be amongst the first 7.'
