Subject: Dedit binds vars like S, SS, etc, so they can''t be EVAL''ed

Lisp Version: Fugue.4

Description: '
'
There are some variables that cannot be Eval''ed in DEdit (i.e. whose evaluated values are not the exepected ones) such as S, SS, etc. Are there any exaustive lists which describes such variables? And how can I avois it (how can I see the real value) '

Subject': DEDIT & user fight for vars'
Lisp Version': 27-Jul-84 20''':32''':33'
Description': DEDIT appears to bind at least the following variables':'
'
ATM COMS EARGS EDITCHANGES EDS EFN EMODE EXPR FN IFCHANGEDFN L MESS SEL TYPE'
'
If I use DEDIT''s EVAL to step through one of my own functions containing some of these vars (e.g. do (SETQ L NIL) after some edits & exit will give you "HELP': (NULL LIST) NIL break':1"), then DEDIT can get internally confused, and I the user get confused because DEDIT may rebind some of the atoms I am binding between my EVALs.'
