A lot of users are confused about what makes this thing go away, etc. Could you write the definitive paragraph on what is going on here, for inclusion in release notes and/or manual?'

Frequently, when I''m loading a particularly large symbolic file (with history and file package disabled), Interlisp pops up a window complaining that the file server (IVY) is not responding. I''ve found that simply opening up a CHAT window to IVY will make this problem go away. Is this a lisp problem or a bug with the IFS?'

There is a known but undiagnosed bug in the 3mb ethernet driver which causes it to hang up under certain sorts of heavy loads. It strikes Dorados almost exclusively. I might include it in "Known problems with this release", but customers (Dolphin and Dandelion users) are unlikely to ever encounter it.'
'
That "opening a Chat window" makes it go away is largely coincidence, I believe. It goes away by itself after a few minutes.'
