Yes it certainly seems that hardware was suspect.  The processor sits in my 9x12 office with a DLion processor and NO air conditioning on weekends.  (I can hardly wait till August).'

Monday we replaced the controller after the machine simply refused to boot in any consistent way.  Powering up the machine  sounds like a chorus of dying cats.  (Which I''m told is for want of a new power supply, on back order.)'
