When a display stream is in a suspended state because information is about to be scrolled off the top, it would be convenient if bugging it with the left button, say, would cause it to proceed; the right button could still be used to bring it to the surface without starting it up.  And perhaps middle button could be used to say "resume printing and don''t stop again" --- this might also clear up some of the problems with typeahead being send to the wrong place when possesion of the tty is moving around under program control.'
