This file contains a description of a number of manual steps required to initialize a Thrush disk from scratch, then a number of commands that will finish the job. You will have to get a copy and customize it to do anything but install the official system on the official subdirectory on the official server. This file is not maintained in any DF file. It is /Indigo/Voice/Top/InstallThrush.cm.
1. Produce an Alto partition
try holding down BS-'-M while triple booting to get the NetExec running
Install the Alto partition.
2. Install Cedar.
NetExec
wait ten seconds
CedarNetExec.
Cedar
Perform standard Cedar installation WITHOUT personal profile
One doesn't want to get all of LifeSupport. /Indigo/Voice/Top/User.profile is not maintained in any DF file, so it must be put back by hand when it changes.
3. Getting the right User.Profile
Copy -c ///User.Profile ← /Indigo/Voice/Top/User.Profile
Delete any other user profiles
Hold down the F key and single boot. A full boot should ensue.
The remaining steps can now be accomplished by this command file. Type
Source /Indigo/Voice/Top/InstallThrush
to the default Command Tool.
4. Get the system.
cd ///Strowger/
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/Top/Thrush
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/Top/Bluejay
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/Top/Teleload
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/Top/Agent
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/Top/GVLark
Bringover -f /Indigo/Voice/Top/DirectoryFiles
GV database and tunes database.
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/Top/LarkGVDatabase
cd ///
LarkControl doesn't know how to find files in subdirectories -- this misnamed DF has all the Lark object code and symbol tables in it.
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/Top/LarkCheckout.df
cd ///Strowger
5. Set up for checkpoint and make checkpoint.

6. Run the system
To run Thrush, roll back and do:
