The box works well! The electrical parts I was worried about, (speaker
and headphone volume levels) are all correct with
Rich Pasco's
new Auburn amplifier.

I have a few comments etc. for the production models:

The volume control should be wired the other way, so that clockwise is
increasing volume, rather than decreasing.

The speaker switch is three positions rather than two. I think it
is fine. Rich wanted to know what the third position did.

The D-shell connectors should be mounted with sliding-lock
retainer studs rather than just screws. The heavy cables from these
connectors will tend to disconnect otherwise.

The ground connections for the connectors should all be wired
together rather than depend on the chassis for ground. I think
anodized aluminum is an insulator unless scratched!

How about the cutout for Violet connectors? Do you think that
it will be feasible to drill more holes later (after assembly)?

A weight for the box would be pleasant, but it is really
fine the way it is.

I'm not sure about labels. I would rather have no labels than Dymo labels. Transfer lettering might be too easy to scratch off (unless
painted over with some sturdy transparent stuff). Silk screen might
be too expensive. (Ed McCreight's wife apparently does silk screen
stuff for Xerox already though).
