This file contains a description of a number of manual steps required to initialize a Thrush disk from scratch, then a number of commands that will finish the job. You will have to get a copy and customize it to do anything but install the official system on the official subdirectory on the official server. This file is maintained in Parameters.df, but invoked manually. It is /Indigo/Voice/®/Top/InstallThrush.cm, where ® is 5.2, 6.0, and so on.
1. Install Cedar, WITH personal profile.
2. Install reasonable environment (manual to avoid lengthy full boots)
CD Commands
Bringover /Cedar/CedarChest6.0/Top/Environment.DF
3. Get Starting information
CD Strowger
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/®/Top/Parameters.DF
This will fetch User.profile, lark GV database, this file, that sort of thing.
4. Get the right User.Profile
Copy /// ← User.profile
Delete any other user profiles
Hold down the F key and single boot. A full boot should ensue. This time, don't use personal profiles.
The remaining steps can now be accomplished by this command file. Type
InstallThrush
to the default Command Tool.
4. Get the system.
cd ///Strowger/
Bringover -p /Cedar/CedarChest6.0/Top/VoiceUtils.df
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/6.0/Top/Thrush
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/6.0/Top/Bluejay
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/6.0/Top/LarkControl
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/6.0/Top/Agent
Bringover /Indigo/Voice/6.0/Top/DirectoryFiles
cd ///
LarkControl doesn't know how to find files in subdirectories -- this misnamed DF has all the Lark object code and symbol tables in it.
Bringover /Indigo/Lark/6.0/Top/LarkPrograms.df
cd ///Strowger
5. Set up for checkpoint and make checkpoint.
Make another Strowger-based Command tool
Checkpoint
6. Run the system
To run Thrush, roll back and do:
Thrush
