To restart:

1)Try to find one of the above people; if you can’t, then:

2)If the server is running, type shift-swat; if the server is in the Mesa Debugger, note the signal name (or number and module name) and message in the log book, then boot the Alto; if the server is in Swat, note the message in the log book then boot the Alto.
DO NOT BOOT THE ALTO WHILE THE SERVER IS RUNNING.

3)You should now be in the Alto Executive; if you aren’t, find an expert or go away.

4)Type the line @Server to the Executive; the server should now restart itself - this takes about fifteen minutes.

5)Write in the log book a note of all you did and who you are.
