Purpose: For configuring monitors with various screen sizes and refresh rates
Tool Description:
Menus:
Calculateuse the input parameters to calculate and display the output variables
Set — calculate and send the result to the display head
TurnOff — turn off color viewers
NTSC — set up monitor waveforms to conform with NTSC standard. Requires the bits per pixel button entry before bugging NTSC
Buttons (Input parameters):
screen widthenter the number of visible pictures per line
screen heightenter the number of visible lines per frame
refresh rateenter the number of frames per second (interlace is assumed)
hBlank timeenter the number of microseconds of horizontal blanking, measured
from the leading edge of horizontal sync.
vBlank timeenter the number of microseconds of vertical blanking, measured
from the leading edge of vertical sync.
bits per pixelenter the number of bits per pixel for monitor.
Labels (Output Variables):
field timemilliseconds per field
field freq1/(field time), Hz
line timemicroseconds per line
line freq1/(line time), KHz
pixel timenanoseconds per pixel
pixel freq1/(pixel time), Mhz
MUL, DIV, vertical ctrl, horizontal ctrl: calculated parameters needed by the display head
