Bringing over the right things
GFtoPress resides in the DF file [Cedar]<CedarChest6.0>Top>GFtoPress.df. It relies upon several TFM (TeX Font Metric) files, all but one of which is probably already on your machine. If, when you run GFtoPress, you get an error from FS looking for a file called ``Gray.TFM'', then you will need to bring over a copy of [Fonts]<CedarFonts>Top>FontMetrics.df into the local directory ///Fonts/FontMetrics/ on your machine. This is done whenever you full-boot your machine, but if you haven't done so in a while, the grayfont TFM file may not be there yet.
Syntax
Running GFtoPress is easy:
% GFtoPress foo
will convert the file ``foo.gf'' into a new file ``foo.press'',
% GFtoPress foo.2602gf
will convert ``foo.2602gf'' into ``foo.press''.
Caveats
õ The press files prodcued by GFtoPress use a special font, the ``grayfont'', to produce the large images of the characters. Currently, this font is only installed on these printers at PARC:
 Clover Menlo RockNRoll
It is relatively easy to install it in other places as needed. Talk to Pavel.pa for details.
õ The output of GFtoPress will be most useful if you have created the GF file with METAFONT running with mode=proof, the default.
