Abstract: GFtoAC converts a GF (``generic font'') file produced by METAFONT into an AC (``aligned characters'') file as needed for installation on any of the PARC printers.

Using GFtoAC
First, bring over the latest version of [Cedar]<CedarChest6.0>Top>GFtoAC.df into ///Commands.
The command
GFtoAC foo
will convert ``foo.gf'' into ``foo.ac'', and
GFtoAC foo.384gf
converts ``foo.384gf'' into ``foo.ac''.
The AC files produced by GFtoAC can be viewed and/or edited using the Cedar FontEdit command.
For best results, the GF files should be produced by METAFONT using mode=foo, where foo is one of the following:
dover or localfont to produce a font for use on the Dover printers
raven   to produce a font for a Raven printer
platemaker or plate to produce a font for the Platemaker
