It was agreed that noteworthy events would be noted during PFUDGe
meetings and advertised in these notes. We hereby note the
noteworthiness of this agreement and deliver these notes.

All notes may be found via /CedarCommon/Top/Discussions.df in the
PFUDGeNotes.mail file.

There is a new DFSuitesDoc.tioga available from
/PCedar/Top/PCedarDoc.df. It describes the new organization of the DF
suites for PCedar and packages shared between PCedar and DCedar.

/CedarCommon/Top/Discussions.df manages Peanut-style mail files
containing the text of all messages for a particular PCedar Discussion.

PCedarSetUp is obsolete and should no longer be used.

MakeDo now works in both ux and vux directories.

It is requested that implementors and maintainers create and update a
News section at the front of their package documentation whenever a
package is modified. It is too much to expect actual updating of the
documentation itself.

We will gather after dealer to hold lively discussions on a host of interesting topics:
I. Old business as desired; update on the discussions
II. New business
1. Is "UnixCommand" a legitimate command in .command files?
2. Runtime support behavior for re-exported interface items
3. Beginning the PCedar3.0 process; issues:
a. start putting together your list of interface changes
b. supporting source sharing better
c. splitting into PCedar3.0 and PCedarChest3.0
d. eliminate <Top>, put DFs in package directories?
4. Reducing the file space consumed by the release
a. encode mesa position vs. C lineno in .c2c.o; encode in a separate file
(this takes no more than 10% of the space for storing the .c2c.c)
b. unix compress .c2c.c files (this takes about 30% of the space used for the uncompressed file)
c. other ideas;
d. who will implement

ACTION ITEMS
Brian Oki and Ken Pier: prepare PCedar part of summer intern documentation.
Dave Nichols and Carl Hauser: DTRT with PCedarKill and PCedarCleanUp, with attention to the different needs of X and RawViewers.
Michael Plass: decommission QUIT (and maybe quitworld?) in Commander. Remove obsolete calls to XR-GetFrameBuffer wherever found.
Michael Spreitzer: implement an interface to export actual Famous Paths.
Everyone using new PCR: report MemSig errors to Carl and/or Alan for tracking.
NOTICE: the new search rules (see DFSuitesDoc) are about to be implemented for finding TIP and Icon files. If TIP and Icon finding suddenly fails, it is likely that the responsible implementors have not followed the (heretofore unimplemented) conventions. TIP/Icon files will be searched in the following order:
. (the current working directory)
/CedarCommon/FamousFiles/
/PCedar/FamousFiles/
NOTICE: don't execute any loading commands in a Commander while Cirio is examining load state. Bad interaction in the loader module results.
Bill Jackson reported the prospect of a Watch-like tool for PCedar, soon.
Alan Demers reported that PCedar will soon move onto either Version 2.14 or 3.0 of PCR.
Some discussion on the proper user of shared floating point variables and of floating point exception handling was started and moved offline.
Household hint: CtrlO (that is, Control and letter O simultaneously) will cause EUNIX console output to stop until the next keyboard input. Useful for speeding up PCedar booting.
