Example
ls -d | head 30
prints the thirty most recently changed files in the working directory.
Caveats
After taking the ten minutes it took to write this, I realize that the same effect can be achieved, at slight performance detriment (who cares?) using the Commander command:
unix head head
But the head packkage is close to the minimal sized command, perhaps it can be a template for something less obvious.
