General introduction
Before accessing the EtherTester code, you must do the following (in a command Tool):
PsAdd DoradoMicrocode Indigo Indigo
If you are running EtherTester on a Dorado equipped with a 10mb ethernet board, you must install differnt Cedar microcode. Then you simply run the ethertester program once you've booted Cedar with its new microcode. First do the following (into some working directory):
bringover -p [DoradoMicrocode]<DoradoMicrocode>Top>EtherTester.df
Installing new Cedar microcode
You can either load the microcode directly into the Dorado microstore and use it, or install the microcode on the disk so that every time you hard boot (3-boot or power on) the machine you use that microcode.
To simply use the microcode, do the command:
LoadNSCedar
The microcode will get arranged for the conveniance of the machine, and you'll be asked to confirm the loading of the code. Confirming will boot the machine, using the new code.
To install the microcode on the disk, use LocalIago, give the command In(stall) Ce(dar microcode) (you need only type the first few characters). Instead of the suggested file name, have it use [DoradoMicrocode]<DoradoMicrocode>EtherTester>NSCedar.eb. When the installation is finished, you must 3-boot the Dorado, to get it to read its new microcode.
Running Ethertester
Once Cedar has been booted, get into the directory that has the ethertester code and type EtherTester to the CommandTool.
